I just wanted to reccomend that too, because you now can implement your 
own svdrp-commands in vdr-plugins.
There is already a plugin, which turns of the remote-control so it can 
be used for an alternative player (like mmsv2):

So there should be a nice routine which could be used in your plugin ... 
not much coding left I guess. ;-)
