[vdr] Working around EPG bugs?

I'd prefer if we wouldn't need any EPG bugfixes in the first place.

Things could be so simple: every broadcast has a title, a short
description and a long description. I really don't understand why
it is so hard for the providers to supply that data in a consistent
way.
