Sorry, but I don't see any obvious part in the log where it fails. But 
something is wrong as every menu*.mpg (main menu and submenus) has a 
size of zero.
mplex doesn't complain, but every spumux tells "0 subtitles added". I 
can only think of something like a disk-full-condition or did you modify 
the script vdrburn-dvd.sh?

Maybe you can try to execute manually each step of the "render" part of 
the case contruct in vdrburn-dvd.sh to find the bug?
