If it only happens when recording encrypted channels, but not when live viewing, then it can be a problem of too short a timeout.


At some point I had such a problem - the card did not start delivering 
video fast enough for encrypted channels.  The answer was to just remove 
the emergency exit in the VDR main loop.  Then it worked fine.  But that 
was for an earlier version of VDR.
