No, I've not done a how to - but am happy to help.

I'm running mms-1.1.0.  Had to configure in mms:
.lircrc
GenericPlayerConfig
MovieConfig
MplayerConfig
TVConfig
Config
PictureConfig
WeatherConfig
XineConfig
EPGConfig

but if you have it working under xineliboutput or vdr-xine, it pretty much 
works out of the box.

Interesting.  Do you have a howto for this?  I'm sure I know some guys
who would like to try it as an alternative to xbmc+VDR.
