>> The above applies to Biltema 4x1 switch
>> and to my current switch too. Don't remember
>> the name, though. Might have been Digiality or not.
...
>> If the order of ports is different, just edit that.
>> Not that difficult, is it? Just read the diseqc pdf spec. :)

> Very well written and interesting data you got there. But I don't just
> get it why even this doesn't work, though you mentioned that it works
> with the biltema stuff as both of mine are of those. Same thing still
> occurs with both switches, to watch channels with V-pol I first must
> switch to a H-pol channel.

Hmmmh, in universal LNBs the polarity and hi/lo frequencies
are selected like this:

# command:
# t tone off (universal LNB: low freq)
# T tone on (universal LNB: high freq)
# v voltage low (13V) (universal LNB: vertical polarization)
# V voltage high (18V) (universal LNB: horizontal polarization)

You might try to increase the waits (W15 --> W50, for example)
and then try to always first set the high or low voltage, command the diseqc switch
and only finally set the correct voltage for the selected polarization.

> Could this somehow be a limitation of the Skystar 2-pci card?

This might be a hardware problem with your dvb-s tuner card,
or a driver glitch/bug or your LNBs are bit too picky or... Canada!

> Then
> again, best configuration that actually has worked flawlesly so far with
> these twin-lnb's is the configuration for a mini-diseqc with A and B
> commands, but then I'm without the 3rd satellite. Veeery confusing.

Hmmh, why not try to make use of this information?

If your current setup copes nicely with H pol but with
V pol only after viewing a H pol channel try something like this:

# port 1
S1.0W 11700 V 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 t W50 v
S1.0W 99999 V 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 T W50 v
S1.0W 11700 H 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 t W50 V
S1.0W 99999 H 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 T W50 V

# port 2
S5.0E 11700 V 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 t W50 v
S5.0E 99999 V 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 T W50 v
S5.0E 11700 H 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 t W50 V
S5.0E 99999 H 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 23] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 T W50 V

# port 3
S13.0E 11700 V 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 t W50 v
S13.0E 99999 V 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 T W50 v
S13.0E 11700 H 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 t W50 V
S13.0E 99999 H 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 22] W50 T W50 V

# port 4
#Sxx.yE 11700 V 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 t W50 v
#Sxx.yE 99999 V 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 T W50 v
#Sxx.yE 11700 H 9750 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 t W50 V
#Sxx.yE 99999 H 10600 t V W50 [E0 10 27] W50 [E0 10 26] W50 T W50 V

The changes made:

1) Increase all delays from 15ms to 50ms (W50)
2) Always set up the high voltage (V = 18V, v = 13V) (for H pol) first
3) Set up the correct voltage (13V or 18V) only after the whole command sequence.

I suspect that somehow your diseqc switch is not able to hear
the commands unless your dvb-s card sets up the high voltage
for horizontal polarization. This is only a wild guess, though.
