Maybe I'm totally missguided, but couldn't it be that the tuning is ok, but the DISqC command malformed/not perfect? (I think a wrong timing could cause it)
The Tuner cannot tune the channel if the wrong "cabel" is connected.
Retry to switch channel is no use. You must resend the DISqC command.
So the question is: Is there a difference in the DISEqC command sequence with the new patch? 

I had very bad tuning problems some time ago, but with my new switch its a much better. (ok, so is the signal quality)
