I have the same problems. It happens when the firmware has a crash. After
that I see the convergence text at the bottom 
and the S-Video is black and white. When reloading the driver it works
again. It seems that the driver does not
set the s-video again after a firmware crash. I think the s-video should be
reenabled in the driver when it detects a firmware crash.
