If the tuner type of your bt8xx card is one of those that are already
supported by the bttv package for a long time, it works of course.

No chance for an autodetection! (Via I2C bus?) The tuner type is asserted
by the TUNER_SET_TYPE ioctl function which is emitted by dvb.o resp.
dvb_frontend.o.

In bttv, the tuner type is selected automatically - for *some* card types
- as a consequence of the "card=nn" parameter. Also by TUNER_SET_TYPE.
