[linux-dvb] problems with Hauppauge DVB/S finding a stream

Hello,

I have a Hauppauge DVB/S and am having trouble getting it to see any
satellite signals. When inserting the module, it looks like this:

Rainbow:/var/log # modprobe dvb

registered.

May 14 19:39:20 Rainbow kernel: dvb: 1 dvb(s) found!

I have options dvb init_chan=2 and pids_off=0 for the dvb module.

WHat looks odd is that at first it says it is ignoring an I2C
tuner. (could this be my problem?)
/proc/video/dev/video0 is:

Rainbow:/proc/video/dev # cat video0
name : DVB Board
type
: VID_TYPE_CAPTURE|VID_TYPE_TUNER|VID_TYPE_OVERLAY|VID_TYPE_CLIPPING|VID_TYPE_FRAMERAM|VID_TYPE_SCALES
hardware : 0xb
Rainbow:/proc/video/dev #

When I try to tune a channel with szap, it appears everything is going
fine with the exception that szap outputs tuning failed after waiting
about 3 seconds.

The Dish Network LNB appears to use a high lof of 11.25ghz, so I adjusted
that as well as the switching frequency. Since the SW-64 is not a 2way
switch, , I cannot get responses from it--documentation I have read
suggests that changes in voltage received should indicate failure or
acceptance of whatever I tried to do, but I can't tell what the deal is.

I am using kernel 2.4.19-pre7 with LL patches and have i2c and videodev in
the kernel, not modules.

The DVB card outputs a PAL video signal, no audio.

Help is greatly appreciated.

_J
