[linux-dvb] av71100: ARM crashed!

Hi!

I'am trying to get a satellite internet connection to work
and I am now trying to set up the sat downlink first but it stops
with "ARM crashed!" after a short while...

This happens when i use the PID for unicast (lots of data received).

(I have not seen a crash if I use the PID for multicast
used by my ISP to send some UDP traffic, just 0,7kb/s)

Maybe a filter problem?

This sat internet connection works perfectly in Win2000 with the same hardware.

What can I do to find out more (extract debug info...?)
Are there any parameters i can play with to see if
it gets better or worse? (bufffer sizes...?)

----- Details: -----------------------------------------------------

What I have now:
AMD AthlonXP 1800+ (and also tested on a PIII/800MHz)
Fresh install of Redhat 7.3, orginal kernel 2.4.18-3
  Hauppauge WinTV Nexus-S ver 2.1 Frontend BSRU6
DVB CVS files from 20021122, no problems during compile.

This is the setup details used in the Windows DVB-data program
that i'am trying to duplicate in Linux:

ISP : www.swepet.com (using a modem VPN connection for uplink)

  Sat : Sirius 3
  Freq : 11,996 GHz
  Pol : horisontal
  Signal inversion: no
  Symbol rate: 27500 kS/s
  FEC : 3/4
PIDs : Multicast=512, Unicast=518 and using my cards MAC adress

I first start with "make insmod" in DBV/driver:

Nov 26 14:58:08 localhost kernel: Linux video capture interface: v1.00
Nov 26 14:58:09 localhost kernel: DVB: registering new adapter (Technotrend/Hauppauge PCI rev2.1 or 2.2).
Nov 26 14:58:09 localhost kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:0c.0
Nov 26 14:58:09 localhost kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 01:05.0
  Nov 26 14:58:09 localhost kernel: DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (stv0299 based (e.g. Alps BSRU6 or LG TDQB-S00x))...
  Nov 26 14:58:12 localhost kernel: DVB: AV7111(0) - firm f0240009, rtsl b0250018, vid 71010068, app 00012502

I then use "dvbtune":
  dvbtune -f 11996000 -p H -s 27500 -n 518

with the result:
Using DVB card "stv0299 based (e.g. Alps BSRU6 or LG TDQB-S00x)"
  tuning DVB-S to L-Band:1107310712, Pol:H Srate=27500000, 22kHz=off
  polling....
  Getting frontend event
  FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_LOCK FE_HAS_CARRIER FE_HAS_VITERBI FE_HAS_SYNC
  Bit error rate: 65280
  Signal strength: 48641
  SNR: 58119
  FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_LOCK FE_HAS_CARRIER FE_HAS_VITERBI FE_HAS_SYNC
  Trying to open /dev/dvb/adapter0/net0
Successfully opened network device, please configure the dvb interface

..then I do (192.168.46.21 taken from my working Windows DVB-data program UC IP address)
  /sbin/ifconfig dvb0_0 192.168.46.21

and ifconfig with my hardware MAC:
  /sbin/ifconfig dvb0_0 hw ether 00:D0:5C:20:6E:B2

In the log:

  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb_net: dvb_net_init_dev()
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: filter mac=00 00 00 00 00 00
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: feed_started

  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: set_multi()
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: feed_stopped
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: set_mc_list, 1 entries
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: invoke ifup dvb0_0
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: set_mc_filter 0: 01 00 5e 00 00 01
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: filter mac=00 00 00 00 00 00
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: filter mac=01 00 5e 00 00 01
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: feed_started
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: feed_stopped
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: filter mac=00 d0 5c 20 6e b2
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: filter mac=01 00 5e 00 00 01
  Nov 26 14:58:13 localhost kernel: dvb0_0: feed_started

Nov 26 15:12:07 localhost kernel: av71100: ARM crashed!

If I do "ifconfig dvb0_0" after the crash:
dvb0_0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:D0:5C:20:6E:B2
          inet addr:192.168.46.21 Bcast:192.168.46.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:4096 Metric:1
          RX packets:407705 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:354036276 (337.6 Mb) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
          Base address:0x206

Is it normal to see this amount of data coming in after 14 min or should I just
see data that is sent to my MAC adress (nothing for the moment..)???
Sometimes it crashes after just a few seconds.
