Sorry, i did not found the time to test it as much as i would like. But some 
short testing showed me that your last patch improves switching time and 
reliability for me. Lockups are rare now, but the still happen. With 
"dvb_frontend_debug=1" i get this log messages:

The ".._internal_ioctl" and "..._ioctl" occur once a second. The 
"dvb_bend_frequency" appeared after switching to a frequency without output, 
and the number of ioctl and internal_ioctl per second increases while i stay 
on this frequency as you can see from the "output repeated" messages.

Sorry, i did not had the time to try to reproduce the "hangup during watching" 
phenomenon, but i will try to do it asap.
