[linux-dvb] missing OSD device

Hi,

I'm trying to run my Siemens DVB-c card under debian/testing, kernel
2.6.5 using vdr + kvdr to watch TV on my monitor. I do get an image, so
driver and hotplugged firmware basically work, but from vdr I get the
message "ERROR: illegal OSD device handle (-1)!", and indeed there is no
vdr display on-screen. The relevant device directory (devfs-created)
also has a missing OSD entry:

$ ls -l /dev/dvb/adapter0/
total 0
crw-rw----    1 root     video    250,   1 1970-01-01 01:00 audio0
crw-rw----    1 root     video    250,   6 1970-01-01 01:00 ca0
crw-rw----    1 root     video    250,   4 1970-01-01 01:00 demux0
crw-rw----    1 root     video    250,   5 1970-01-01 01:00 dvr0
crw-rw----    1 root     video    250,   3 1970-01-01 01:00 frontend0
crw-rw----    1 root     video    250,   7 1970-01-01 01:00 net0
crw-rw----    1 root     video    250,   0 1970-01-01 01:00 video0

Could someone give me a hint how to get this OSD device? I thought a
module might be missing, but I read that dvb-ttpci and ves1820 should be
enough, and these I have:

$ lsmod|grep dvb
dvb_ttpci              76300  4
dvb_core               63188  29 ves1820,dvb_ttpci
saa7146_vv             50624  2 dvb_ttpci
saa7146                19044  2 dvb_ttpci,saa7146_vv
firmware_class         10240  1 dvb_ttpci
crc32                   4352  4 8139too,8139cp,dvb_ttpci,dvb_core
ttpci_eeprom            2880  1 dvb_ttpci

I had this hardware setup working under kernel 2.4, so it must be a
software problem.
