Got it - on the KNC1 DVB-T, you have to set the "mux_pola_clk" bit - bit 7 of 
register 0x3a on the TDA10046. Now I get a perfect signal. Strange though, 
that was the very first thing I tried - I would have expected hours of 
fiddling :)
