[linux-dvb] Hauppauge WinTV Nova-S SE ----> Unknown device 1016
Hi everyone,
I got this card Hauppauge WinTV Nova-S SE and expected it to work the
way Mark Reiche suggested using the budget-ci driver. So now I have some
more info regarding the thread no one on this list has answered me yet
http://www.linuxtv.org/mailinglists/linux-dvb/2004/11-2004/msg00773.html
therefore I'm starting a new one now.
I tried the current gentoo-patched kernel 2.6.9, and also "dvb-kernel"
CVS last night, but I can't get any devices listed under /dev/dvb/ (I'm
using devfs, so no manual node creation needed) after modeprobing
budget-ci, no matter what frontend module I try to load, or even if I
try the supplied script which loads them all.
Isn't "dvb-kernel" the refactored branch there was talked about on this
ML, which was supposed to load the frontend modul by itself if I
understood correctly?
Anyway, I had a look at the output of lspci -vv ans it spits something like
Technotrend Systhemtechnik GmbH: Unknown device 1016
This PCI-ID is obviously unknown to dvb-kernel, and to the official
2.6.x kernels, so can you guys please help me further? What should I do
next?
Regards,
Lucian
