Yes, but I did used to load and unload them all. In my current system
(Ubuntu) hotplug would load all but the actual frontend module. I
handled that with a modprob.conf line.

I think it was Andrew who said, a couple of days ago, that the saa7146
module was a bit like a library used so I tried leaving it loaded.
Eventually I found it was enough to just unload/load the budget and
budget_core modules, quicker too.
