Current development platforms are Matrox G4x0 and VIA CLE266.

Great. I should be able to arrange for a G450 dual head. Is it possible to configure one head for DirectFB and the other for the XFree86 mga driver? I suspect the answer is no, but I could be lucky.

Please note that one of *my* design goals for libsoftmpeg was to have the best possible tv-out experience.

Great, that's my goal too. In my case I want PC + TT-Budget + VGA card = STB/PVR.

I would like to take an interlaced PAL RGB output from the VGA connector and feed it to the RGB input on the SCART connector of my Loewe TV. Do you know if it is possible to get RGB + composite sync from one of the VGA outputs of a Matrox G450? If not, I have some schematics for a circuit that should combine the H and V sync signals, but would prefer to not have to resort to that. The G450 I have does not do TV-out.

Cheers,

Peter.
