Yes do some further developement, please!

Afaik Arpi is working on the DVBs Sound Output via mplayer and since mplayer
does support lirc, it could be very nice integrated into vdr ...

btw.: I did convert some vdr recordings into divx avis, which in fact seem
to play very fine in mplayer via dvbs ... so this could be the ultimate
solution to store recordings ...

so, please do not give up this project!
