I have them in ../DVD (relative to the VDR directory).
See VDR/INSTALL for more. I set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH accordingly.
Of course it should also work if you 'make install' them to the system wide
default location. You may have to re-initialize the library cache then,
but at the moment I don't recall the command that does that...
