Hi Klaus,

It does work but it's painstaking:

First you have to cut the video to get rid of comercial breaks.
Then you have to remove the marks from the cutted recording and mark new blocks.
As the time duration of a [lets say 700MB] recording block is changing
depending on data rate I need to redo the second cutting process if a block
exceeds my maxfilesize (which you need to check from the console after the
cutting to see if some additional small files where produced).
Beside that between the marks a small section of the movie is removed:

So this is how I would wish this feature would work:

VDR should use different marks for edditing (remove comercials) and file
separations. May be "5" is turning on the separation marks,"1" and "3" for
navigate between the seperation marks ("4" and "6" for fine tuning once
selected). VDR should parse the video file including the edditing marks and
should not allow to move the separation marks beyound the maxfilesize setting.
On the copy process I would wish that the I-frame on a separation mark would
be included in both files. Because this might cause trouble with watching the
recording on harddisk, how about triggering this cutting by a different key,
let's say "8" ( and now we run out of keys ;-) )

regards	Peter
