Well, I have this behaviour, too.

The progress bar is moving as fast as the machine can decode the
mp3 (100% cpu load) and as the output thread uses substancial cpu
it seems that the sound is decoded fine, send to the ringbuffer
but doesn't makes his way to the driver. Or something is wrong
with the audio data.

Can anybody say exactly which version introduced this behaviour?
