Try to add the real IP-address of this machine. I'm not a network-guru,
but I had a similar problem with 127.0.0.1. So I added 192.168.2.252 of
my VDR-box and everything works fine.

Try if you can connect manual to svdrp by

  telnet 127.0.0.1 2001
  telnet localhost 2001
and telnet <whateverIPYouUse> 2001

Maybe your real IP address is used as sender address and therefore will
be blocked, because it is not listed in svdrphosts.conf.
