Seems you're using wrong libraries. There are patched libdvdcss and
libdvdread available which have DVD-keys patched in from old libcss
(search the ML). As they know most keys and don't have to retrieve them
from the DVD-drive, nearly any DVD plays instantly.

The other possibility are libdvdcss and libdvdread from mpdvdkit
(MPlayer). They store the keys in the home-directory, so you get a nice
collection of them. If you have a DVD with new keys they need to
retrieve them only once.

Rene

P.S.: Retrieving keys can last up to 5 minutes with the original
libraries ...
