[vdr] vdr occasionally doesn't shut down

I use vdr1.0.4 and nvram-wakeup on my box.
Usually vdr shuts down after a recording, when the next recording is
much later, but it happens from time to time, that vdr doesn't shut down
nonetheless.
There are no unusual entries in messages, and I can't find any reason
for that.
Am I the only one? Does anybody else of you experience that?
What could I do to find out more about what happens there?

in case vdr doesn't shut down, nothing like that is there, so it seems
vdr doesn't call the shutdownscript, but why?
