[vdr] Nova VS Nexus

Which one is the one that works for linux vdr:  the
Hauppauge Nova or Nexus?  I just bought the Nexus-s
model 717(not even given on their home page) and was
wondering if it will work or if I should exchange it. 
I didn't really know what I was doing when I ordered
it, but the guy on the other end said this one did
hardware decode and hardware something else(can't
remember, it was 3 weeks ago), one card did
hardware/hardware and the other did hardware/software.
 I got the hardware/hardware one, or at least he told
me the Nexus was the one I wanted.

I was just wondering if this will work or if I should
send it back, I don't know what rev. it is, the entire
documentation is only 1 page, specs and install, that
kinda scared me.

Any help would be great, confused here.
