[vdr] Is there any way to shut EPG channel scan of permanently?

Hi,
is there any way to switch of this silly EPG scan of for good? I have 
changed the EPGScanTimeOut parameter but everytime VDR shuts down it sets 
it back to 5.

The only way to switch the EPG scan off once it started is to shut down the 
VDR. Should the EPG scan not stop anyway if I change the program manually?

Come on, this is just too silly.
