Thanks to everybody who took the time to test this.

Here's a summary of the results:

    kernel DVB card status

1 2.4.18 2 DVBs rev 2.1 ok
2 2.4.18 1 dvb-s v1.5 ok
3 2.4.19 1 Hauppauge DVB-s v1.3 ok
4 2.4.18 3 Dvbs Rev 1.3 dropouts
5 2.4.10 2 DVB-S rev1.3, 1 NOVA dropouts
6 2.4.18 2 DVB-S rev1.3, 1 NOVA dropouts

So, 4...6 would indicate that the problem is only with rev 1.3 cards,
but 3 contradicts that. I just tried it with kernel 2.4.18 (result #6)
and had the same dropouts as with 2.4.10.

@Holger Wächtler: do you have any ideas what could cause this behaviour?
Maybe some hints where in the driver I should add some debug
outputs to see what might be going wrong?
I do believe that this must be a driver problem, since the exact
same hardware here works fine with the "old" driver (version 2002-06-23
on both kernel 2.4.10 and 2.4.18), but doesn't work with the NEWSTRUCT driver.
