Hi,

your Problem is the sir reciever. They are not designed to recieve CIR
(Customer IR) signals.
If you don't want the "homebrew stuff" you should have a look on the
IRMan (www.evation.com/irman)
It works great with all of my remotes. I can steer my vdr with it and a
"one for all" remote from like 10 - 15 meters away.
