i don´t think they can sell the dBox1 to there customers and after that telling them that they have to buy a new CA-module to use there new smartcard, beside this there will be a lot of people that will have problems doing that kind of exchange by there own (broken plastic, ruined pins in the CA slot, ...)
and there will be no easy firmeare update because the CA has a soldered ROM chip
