I had the same problems with my self-burned dvd's. After I have checked 
the player-dvd.c file (dvd-plugin ver 0.2.0), I modified only one line 
of the following:

   case AUDIO_STREAM_S ... AUDIO_STREAM_E: {
        // no sound in trick mode
        if (trickMode)
           return 0;
        if (audioTrack != cPStream::packetType(sector))
           //return 0; for propper working with mpeg-audio stream
        if (ptsFlag) {
            adiff = pktpts - lapts;
            lapts = pktpts;
        }

in cDvdPlayer::playPacket.

After recompiling everything works well...
