Well, that would work in this particular situation, but...

a.) It would be a hell lot of work to change vdr's behavior as you
suggested, and most people wouldn't get any benefit out of it, because in
most systems the already implemented "mis-tuning" workaround seems to work
without any problems.

b.) what if you think about encrypted channels? Let's say card A (without
CAM) records some FTA channel on transponder X. Now, the user want to
view/record an encrypted channel on the same transponder with the CAM
installed on card B....

c.) or even weird: What if the second card want's to tune to a completely
different program transmitted by a transponder on a different satellite,
that has the same frequency? ... ;-)
