I don't have the datasheet,
but in general: If it is possible to decode out all other used areas with
their CS-lines (or other signals that indicates reliable an access), then
it is possible to use the concept.
In fact it was widely used in µC-Systems where not the whole address space
was filled with memory.
Of course the not fully decoded memory appears at multiple addresses, so its
important to check if these areas are really unused.

If the additional circuit gets too complicated and affords longer wiring,
stability may be affected, or firmware changes must be made, or nobody would
want to turn his DVB-card into a "drahtverhau" ;-).
