If XFS is more performant on big files I would prefer XFS, but maybe
its a hrdwate limitation and not the filesystem on my machine.
i use XFS on software RAID5 (4x120GB each as master on its own IDE
channel) and it performs very well (up to 42MB/s throughput). even cpu
is only an old celeron 333MHz.
also a good friend of mine had big troubles with an broken reiserfs
journal recently, so i would recommend xfs over reiser.
just my 2 cent ...

I totally agree. XFS is running fine on several servers in my office and
on 3 VDRs@home very fine. No files lost since 2 years heavy use. Very
good performance.
