Once upon a time Petric Frank shaped the electrons to say...

That is NOT solved by showview!
Showview is an old fashioned, obsolete way just to enter the
11 Digits for start, stop and programm with only 6...9 key press
and to make of that (BTW: that gives a light impression of the coming
horror and the blocking of innovation and open software
when software patents will be allowed in europe too!)

The (well known) problem you describe must be solved by the tv stations.
They currently do not sent any signals that would allow corrected
timings.

Why?
IMHO It's obvious that they don't want us to be able to
make perfect recordings. Technical it would be no
problem to recode the "analog" VPS signals ->
they can convert the ugly Videotext to DVB-T, why not VPS signalisation?

The will sent it in the moment all TV channels are allowed to
look like Bloomberg, but with "commercials" in the surrounding not
useful infos. (Was'nt VivaII already trying to place advertisements
this way?)

An other attempt would to transmit the cutting information via
internet between VDR users.
