but maybe this helps as a shortcut. if you update regularly it is a good idea 
to use revdep-rebuild (gentoolkit package i think) after a emerge sync emerge 
-Du world. revdep looks for broken libraries and compiles the packages that 
use them new or either compiles the libraries. this will help if the remote 
plugin uses external libraries....
