I've a similar problem (corrupted recordings).

I've assembled a Linux-PC dedicated to VDR in February 2001 with two
Hauppauge DVB-S Revision 1.3 cards. At that time I used SuSE Linux 7.1
with Kernel 2.2.19 and stopped upgrading the software as soon as new DVB
drivers started to require a 2.4 kernel. I was a satisfied user of this
system over these more than two years. At least known bugs and missing
features added to VDR in the mean time aside at least these corrupted
recording problem never occured with VDR 1.0.x

Two weeks ago I replaced the 40 GB harddisk with a 120 GB disk and took
the chance to do a fresh install. I thought the c't VDR knoppix/debian
based VDR distristribution would be good starting point. I also saw
this as an opportunity to learn more about the Debian apt-get/dpkg
packaging system (I'm used to RPM, which I know from SuSE/RedHat).
and to keep the software more uptodate.

Unfortunately the corrupted recording problem started to hit me soon
after this upgrade. For example yesterday:

I would like to track this down or at least like to find a workaround, which
doesn't require to install some obscure softcam-plugin, since I only watch
free-to-air programs.

I've some experience with software development and debugging,
but my knowledge about the internals of the DVB drivers and VDR is
nearly zero.

Any hints appreciated.

Regards, Peter
