Klaus FYI,

Subtitles patch does three things currently:

1) Provides "non-interactive" access to the OSD. The subtitles pop up as 
expect without interaction from the user.
2) Recording of  multiple private stream 1's.
3) Provides subtitling service information (subtitling pid) from plugin 
to the recorder

Also the GetSTC suggested by Sven Goethel would be beneficial for 
syncing the subtitles to video.
