[vdr] Re: FF + Budget as a Team ?

Dear All,

I have a Full-Feature card with a suposely broken tuner (only tunes to
some channels and only sporadically). However the decoding/display
part works fine.

In order to get the tuning part fixed I added a SkyStar2 card
(budget->no decoder) to my system.

So the FF-card is the first device and the Skystar2 is the second DVB
device. I have hooked the Sat-dish to the SkyStar2 and the FF is
unconnected.

Now, when I run my vdr-1.3.12, it does not tune to channels (black
screen), however the OSD works fine. (I am using a scan genereated
channel list for SkyStar2).

I guess that VDR tries to tune the channels on the first device, which
is not possible, or it tunes to the channel on the second card, but
does not decode the stream with the first card.

It has happened in my experimentation that I select a channel, record
this channel ([F1]), and then select this recording from the
recordings that I was able to watch the time-shifted channel. However, it usually does not work.

How can I tell VDR to ignore the tuner of the FF-card and only tune
with the tuner of the budget card, but to use the decoder of the
FF-card for display?

Cheers,
Arnd.
Just set the 'CA' parameter of all your channels to '1'.
