The bacular guys wrote that 2.6 has a problem with tls too.
But not what does the problem cause and they have tested
only the mentioned distros. 
I assume that tls will mostly work.
(See baclula which runs for a week or longer and then hangs
or slows down)


Placing

export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

into runvdr should be sufficient.
