I'm a french user so I use the SECAM protocol and tvtime. I have a Pinnacle PCTV USB2 on Debian SID. The quality of the images is worse on Linux than on MS Windows. On Windows, the quality of the reception couldn't be better. On Linux, i get snow from the same source and the same channel. I used tvtime to scan the channels. It detected the channels but in a very low quality and sometimes not at all. The sound does
