[linux-dvb] Where to find general DVR discussion?

Hi all,

I'd like to build a digital video box.

I'd love to use DVB - the card works, no issues with trying to encode
video from analogue, epg right there with program info, vdr is out there
and works.

However, DVB reception seems pretty useless for an english speaking
European - there are few free-to-air channels, and no option for Sky
Digital reception using a PC card (thanks, BSkyB!)

If I'm wrong about this, I'd be delighted to be corrected.  But I don't
think that I am.

So - that reduces me to a system which has to capture analogue video,
control a sky digital box using infra-red or something, etc etc.  Pretty
much a Tivo.

(Perhaps I should just buy a tivo.  But I suppose this is a fun learning
project as much as an attempt to build a useful system.  And I want to
play DVDs.  And I want to transmit video over my LAN.  etc etc).

There are inevitably others around who are building or have built such a
box.  Can anyone point me to where I can find them?
