Well, I use two little tricks to make it working:
a first one which could be a command reload:
cd /usr/src/DVB-`uname -r`/driver/
sudo make reload

And having a sudo tail -f /var/log/messages
in a shell I do a:
tcsh
while 1
reload
sleep 5
end

and I ^C until I see:
Jul 22 20:15:35 greg kernel: 01 01 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
which is always followed by a:
Jul 22 20:15:42 greg kernel: 01 02 02 00 41 53 54 4f 4e 00 00 ASTON
Jul 22 20:15:43 greg kernel: 01 02 01 00 56 69 61 63 63 65 73 73 00 03 Viaccess

And then everything works very good, I am using a CVS which was know to
work very good with VDR 0.83 I have to try VDR-0.84 with the latest
CVS...

Happy watching,

	Greg
