sp887x.c sets the FE_CAN_RECOVER flag, meaning the FE will regain
lock on its own. tda1004x.c does not, meaning that dvb_frontend.c
should do the necessary steps to regain lock.

It is not. There must be a bug in dvb_frontend.c or tda1004x.c.
