[linux-dvb] czap interferes with Composite Out on WinTV DVB-c

Hi!

We have installed a Hauppauge WinTV DVB-c card under SUSE 9.2
(Suse Kernel and DVB drivers), the DVB-c card is 2 years old and comes
with a hardware mpeg decoder.

Incoming DVB-c signals are received and properly decoded and displayed
on the computer monitor using mplayer or xine.
For switching channels, we use czap.

However, we will only get a signal on composite out
(to be fed into an external video converter or TV) when we fire up vdr.
With czap, the channel is tuned but an external TV stays black.
So we can pretty much exclude hardware damages on the card itself
(composite out works with vdr).

We have set dvb_shutdown_timeout=0 so after quitting vdr
we still have a signal on composite out.
But as soon as we try to switch channels with czap, the screen turns black
again.

I've implemented something very similar 2 years ago with the
kind help of this mailing list and it still runs flawlessly,
however with the "Newstruct" driver and 2.4.19.
I didn't expect any difficulties now.

Using vdr is not an option since we need to run
other video software simultaneously on the box.
We just need to tune the DVB-c card and let it run "passively" doing
the hardware mpeg decoding.

Sorry for not posting any logs and lspci-infos, as the box is still kind of
"stand-alone"
