what do you use to encode an I-frame?

how do you display it?

I use Imagemagick (mencoder) to encode and I can easily display an image 
out of vdr, but I can't inside vdr itself, probably for that famous 
still patch bug.

any hints?

P.S. I don't use Iframes for teletext, only for normal images
