This problem is nearly solved in df-gp (http://df-gp.sf.net). This project 
adds a new ioctl for the graphics card, which resyncs the card.
This allows to compute by how much the card is off and to resynchronize it. 
Right now the resynchronization is a simple restart of the output counters. 
This gives a hick-up in the picture flow. Much better would be to fine tune 
the VGA cards frequency. This would result in a phase-locked-loop. If anyone 
has an idea how to do that ...
