No, just a modified lirc.conf and lircrc. All IR signals will simply
be forwarded by the IR Controller. Only some special keys (i.e. the
remotes power key and the 0-key if pressed for >5 s) plus the front
panel power and reset switches will trigger the controller's software.
Then some special RC5 commands will be sent to LIRC or the power and
reset outputs will react.

Nope, it uses a fixed internal code table (but this ensures that the
timings are accurate). No audio devices are supported as this remote
control is primarily intented to be used with video devices (take a look
at it, the 4 mode keys at the top are labeled VCR, TV, DVD, and SAT).
