I have tried the build-in receiver of a MSI 6215, but it worked only to
a maximum of about 3 m when the remote was directly pointed to the
receiver. 

I then bought the receiver from http://www.zapway.de/index1.htm which
works extremly good. I can point the remote into any direction of the
room even from 5+ m distance.
