OSS can not do the same things like ALSA, e.g. at runtime
open and configure S/P-DIF for audio or none audio nor
it have a unique interface to the S/P-DIF independed from
the sound card used.

And some more: I'm doing in spdif.c some more things than
only sending AC3 frames embedded in PCM but also draining
and preparing the restart if Still or Mute in VDR is
used or an underrun is detected.  This ensures that even if
doing several times Still and/or FF/FR and/or SF/SR in replay
mode will not lost audio sync.  With ALSA this is independed too
from the sound card used.
