... OK for late cards with official S/P-DIF support I guess that the
signal level around 0.5V
Yes, it is specified in 2.1 Nexus datasheet "S/PDIF output to connect to your amplifier".

So, I would say that all J2/home made cables owners need some circuitery to connect to their home cinema amplifier, while Nexus 2.1+ owners that have official S/PDIF out don't.

I'm directly checking this with Hauppauge support.
